The ladies of the Harlow Ray Massee Unit 277 of American Legion Auxiliary meet monthly, as needed, throughout the year.

The mission of the Auxiliary is to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of veterans, military, and their families.

Some of our projects are:

  • Distribute poppies at Memorial Day
  • Participate in Memorial Day services
  • Send a high school junior to Girls' State
  • Sponsor a pillow cleaning service
  • Participate in Veterans' Day by serving area veterans and their families to a soup supper
  • Support county, state and national auxiliary projects.

Membership in the Auxiliary is limited to women who have direct personal connection with service in World Wars I and II, the Korean or Vietnam War, or conflicts in Lebanon, Grenada, Panama or Operation desert shield/Storm/Gulf War/War on Terrorism. This service is through a member of one's own immediate family who served in the Armed Forces during those wars or conflicts, or through one's own service with the Armed Forces.

There is also a junior membership for girls under 18.We would love to have any girls or women join us who have a connection as described above.
