Public Notice-Water Service Lines Freezing
As a result of the extremely cold temperatures this winter, the risk of frozen service pipes is much greater. The City of Sheffield has received several reports of private residential water service lines that have frozen underground between houses and the water mains. Residents are advised to monitor the water temperature coming into their homes. As a precaution, run the water periodically or let a faucet trickle, especially if you plan to be away for an extended period of time or overnight to help prevent the possible freezing of the service pipes.
